As an Editor, it's your duty to provide one or more of the "services" in the Crooklyn Clan Vault 2.0 with hi quality, custom made by YOU, Audio and Video edits that offer utility to other DJ's & music industry professionals, herein referenced as "Clients".
It's your duty to list each and every "Original Work" used for every single edit you upload to our system. That means if it's just a basic edit of one song you put an intro on, the Original Work to list is that song.
If it's a Mash-Up you used 4 songs to make, all 4 must be listed exactly as they are if you were to purchase them in Beatport, iTunes, Amazon, or any other commercial music outlet.
Note that any legal implications due to failure of listing original works will be the sole responsibility of the Editor directly that failed to list the Original Work.
It's your duty to use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation when adding tracks to our database. That means don't capitalize every letter, or add any additional "Ad Value" to your listing in attempts to make it stand out among the others. Tracks that look like a 2 year old put them into our system will be removed.
The listing of any URL (including your own website) is forbidden in the ID3 tags of all tracks. Although our system will re-write your tag, it's essential you make sure prior to uploading that no fields contain any URL's at all. Additionally, listing of URL's in your profile section is CONDITIONAL and will be addressed on a per-situation basis depending on the content.
All tracks entered into our system become the "shared property" of Crooklyn Clan Inc. This means once we offer one of your tracks to clients using our service, we bear the legal responsibility for that track giving us the right to list or provide that track AT WILL whether or not you remain an editor for our service. We will never run an Editor section for any Editor that is no longer with us, however your track will always remain available to all clients that have "committed" to it and may be made available in our compilation section if it does well enough.
It's your duty to provide all edits FREE OF DJ TAGS, DROPS, AND OTHER ADVERTISEMENTS WITHIN THE AUDIO FILE.
It's your duty to promote, advertise, and push your brand and ours to your peers letting them know you have a presence in the Crooklyn Clan Vault however this may not be done on on your audio files.
While becoming an Editor for the Crooklyn Clan Vault can be a highly rewarding experience from so many angles, If you are not doing well with our model it may also hurt you or your reputation as a DJ.
We as a company can assume no responsibility for the outcome of your stay with us as an Editor, but know that we only hope the best for each and every one of you joining the team and will do our very best to provide you with the tools you need for marketing, music management and organization, and most of all, a whole lot of people that need the kinda stuff you make, DJ's...
In the end, it will be up to the Editor to find his/her own way of connecting with the DJ's to earn their trust.
A solid piece of advice for new Editors would be to try and provide a great deal of utility to clients of ALL skill levels. Try not to focus on being too advanced or overthink an "edit" as many of the DJ's you are creating edits for may not be on a skill level to execute some of your more advanced ideas properly.
A great many DJ's will find use in a just a simple 8 bar beat intro, then many will be happy if you give them quick hitters of everything because they DJ at a higher skill level and can execute a high intensity DJ Set.. Acapella In's and Out's are always a big hit with our intermediate to advanced DJ clients, and doing everything in a dirty and clean version will definitely score you points, especially when a DJ loves one of your edits but plays on the radio and you only offered a dirty version :(
Whatever path it is you take to connect to the DJ Community, we wish you nothing but the best of luck and will do our part to help you succeed during your stay with us.
So with that said, we will use the following strategy to keep the service up to date and ahead of the curve.
The Crooklyn Clan Vault will review applications, and attempt to add Editors to the roster 4 times a year. This process will start September 1'st 2017 ( 90 days from launch) and continue on.
All Editors coming to the Crooklyn Clan Vault as first time Editors are on a 90 day evaluation with uploading permissions to the i12inch Digital Pool only UNLESS otherwise agreed-upon.
Every 90 days Crooklyn Clan Inc. will make an assessment of the roster based on charting/performance, participation, marketing, track quality, proper tagging, spelling/grammar, and Original Work claiming accuracy.
Upon completion of assessment, we will grant Editor Access to the Audio Vault to those we feel are ready and capable, keep those that are catching on in the pool, and release the Editors that are on a low participation schedule or not making any headway with the clientele.
We suggest all new editors approach with eyes wide open. Watch the charts, watch the gaps in music, and pay close attention to what seems to be working the best in each and every genre.
You have a great variety of tools to dig deep into the Vault and create a strategy that will connect you to our clients to the point where they will feel lost going to DJ a gig without first checking what you have to offer.
"Collections" are something you should all take a close look at. What a collection does is gives you a way to express yourself through a box of music that you theme yourself. Our clients can add this box of music in the form of a crate right to their crates for fast access. As you update this collection each day, week, month, or whenever you decide, the clients that follow it will get the updates as they come!
Collections are one of the many tools our Editors have to push through in 2.0. We are also offering all editors the ability to fill the Ad space boxes we have placed in various areas of the website and web application. Editors will be given Ad space free of charge.
All Editors that last through the trial period of 90 days will receive a free subscription to the Service(s) they edit for. The subscription will remain active for the duration of their stay with us as an editor bearing they do not miss quota 2 consecutive months.
All Editors will receive site-wide ad space free of charge. Ad slots run for 24 hours and Editors will be given 2 free ad slots per week. Ad slots run in Ad Containers that hold 10 ads. No more than 10 ads will rotate in a container in a 24 hour period. An ad rotation in most cases is 6 seconds.
Ad Containers are a few different sizes and have a few different behaviors. A more detailed explanation can be found in the AD's / Images section. It's the job of the Editor to create or have Ads created, and once approved, those Ads will rotate in the next available opening. We make make an affordable service available to you soon that can have our graphics dept. make banners per request.
